Yesterday's Volunteer Squash

My volunteer squash that has periodically appeared
as blip shots during the summer is no longer! Indeed
the hard frost came, sought, and destroyed. I picked
all its fruit, made an arrangement and placed the mari-
gold blossom on it.

Ironically, the blossom did not get touched by frost
because it sheltered under a squash leaf.
