Southville Calling
Following on from yesterday's inaugural shoot in my home studio, which was headshots only, today our lovely friend Raggs came round for a session. Raggs is a yoga teacher and she wanted some pictures for her website, so they had to be whole-body shots.
By the time I'd unfurled some background paper, got the flash head and softbox up on a boom, and Raggs was in position, it turned out there was about 1 square foot of floorspace for me to squeeze into (under the computer desk, in fact) to get a decent angle.
Looking at this now, the angles made by Raggs's legs reminds me a bit of Pennie Smith's brilliant photograph of Paul Simenon smashing his bass to the floor, on the cover of The Clash's London Calling.
This shot is supposed to be a bit more serene than the Clash one though.
