Pyracanthus
Not doing much today, yesterday’s activities caused me to trap the nerve in my back yet again so that I was in some discomfort yesterday evening and today I am too dosed up with painkillers etc., to continue with yesterday’s work. Today’s picture is therefore one of a Pyracanthus, which is growing in an old sink (used as a raised flower bed) just outside the back door. Two years ago we planted a Pyracanthus hedge inside our boundary, but outside of our old and dying Hawthorn hedge. Due to ill health the grass and weeds around the Pyracanthus hedge have grown higher than the Pyracanthus plants stunting their growth. The one in this picture is therefore a better example than most of our hedge plants, even though it was the ‘runt of the litter’ and was not expected to survive.
