Animals in the Peat?

When peat banks are abandoned for many years there are some strange formations in the hills and with all the recent rain strange islands appear in small pools of water. It does show however how much the land has been dug-out over the years. Flat calm at the top of the hill this afternoon but a bit choppier down at sea-level.
