California Poppies
I know, I know, this isn't a very exciting photo but I was excited when I saw them. You see these are California Poppies, our state flower. You don't see them just everywhere, and when you do, it's awesome. Normally I wouldn't even care about this color of flower, but it does help them standout from any other flower clusters. Since they are our state flower, they can grow in some pretty extreme places, like rocky areas or areas lacking in good soil. These, however, are in my neighbors yard. She likes her yard to be filled with California natives. This way she doesn't have to water too often. We live in an arid area and these plants can handle it just fine. I am not sure of what any other state's flower is, but I sure like our state's, California Poppy!
