Oven

The communal oven in the village of Montblanc, near Pézenas (not related to the Alpine mountain!), where we went this morning to check on the house of some friends. It looks as though it still functions - I must find out if they still use it.

The black stones in the wall are volcanic from nearby Agde.

There is a communal oven in our village, but it isn't in the street, it's inside the cave or cellar of a house near ours. I'll ask if I can photograph that one day.

I blipped a similar oven in use (although it was indoors and not as old as this one) in the west of France in September.
