Nissan Huts

I walked around the edge of a very muddy, (newly planted) field in the village to take a closer look at these Nissan huts. They were built at the beginning of World War II, and until fairly recently in a fair condition! However, nature is taking over now, and the brambles and berries are almost obscuring the buildings completely.
During World War II, the American GI's stayed in the huts, while the Briitsh Officers were billeted in the Manor House. People growing up after the war remember playing around the huts, which are not far from the village hall.

Sunshine and showers today - most of which I spent on this computer for one reason or another! No Village Cafe, due to the village hall getting redecorated!
