Trying to be like a teen

Ok maybe not but why do the majority of teen girls have their profile pic like this? My daughter's pics make me laugh, kwirky angle, fingers over eyes, a bit of Photoshop then voilà! Ok lacking in youth and the big fringe across brow but it made me giggle!
