Prickly Pear Fruit

"The flavor of prickly pears has been compared to kiwi, but not as acidic."

There is jelly and candy and sweetener that is made from Prickly Pears. I have to admit that it all tastes sweet to me but I can't really discern a distinct flavor.

Like all cacti, the Prickly Pear is common in the AZ desert and even in our neighborhood. They grow quite large.
I have not killed one yet but then I haven't tried to cultivate one...
