Hanoi Buskers
Following the discovery of the failed fingerboard yesterday, after a bit of internet research Andy managed to find a guy named Khai who worked at the University of Music and apparently had a workshop there so off he went in a cab after breakfast. Freddie went for wander around town trying to get some information on buses and trains for when we leave Hanoi.
Andy found the workshop but it was locked up. He took a couple of telephone numbers from the board outside and when he got back to the hotel they rang them for him ... they are so lovely and helpful at this hotel (The Culture Hostel, Hanoi if anyone reading is travelling here). The girl on reception thinks Andy should have long hair because he is a musician. Anyway, back to the fingerboard ... they managed to find out from someone else that Khai would be in the workshop tomorrow morning and we should ring about 9am.
We spent the afternoon meandering around town and booked some tickets for the water puppet show tomorrow then went for a couple of drinks and some food. The Old Quarter in Hanoi was busy and buzzing and there were a few buskers. This band were pretty good ... the violinist thought was Vanessa Mae but was very good and classically trained according to Andy. Photo a bit blurry but you get the gist.
