horns of wilmington's cow

Bridgely Sage Be Merry on Tyne

Little weekend away, sort of for our anniversary, though booked before either of us had really realised the proximity. The purpose is actually to go to the Theatre Royal tomorrow night to see the Royal Shakespeare Company perform Two Gentlemen of Verona, which gives an excuse to come down this night before, go out for a nice meal and (weather permitting) have a wander out to Hadrian's big dividing line during the day tomorrow.

The nice meal was 'nice', but way too expensive for what it was (which was an attempt to bring Michelin dining to the Quayside, but misses the mark by simply being too 'safe' and unmemorable).

Still, always nice to have a trip back 'home' (even if we did leave when I was 4...).
