Lest we forget . . .

. . . A couple of months ago Radio Nottingham launched a challenge to listeners to make 11,000 knitted Poppies, one for each soldier lost in the Great War. Not only did they reach the total, they more than trebled it, including Mums 33!!!

They were all displayed at the Contemporary arts centre. It was moving to see. especially as the end wall had names of the 11,000 scrolling up at quite a speed, and even so it took over an hour and a half to loop through them all.
