Mazarines

I'm sure you all knew that these are mazarines - an inset for dishes to drain fish and meat and I guess if warmed will help to keep the food hot. They come in all shapes and sized ( as do dishes). This collection is in the tearoom of Haddo House a National Trust property. Mazarines are called after Cardinal Mazarin - scanty research so don't know why.
