Smart ladybird

This Orange Ladybird, found during our work party at the nature reserve today, has to be one of the smartest beetles around. It is quite a common woodland species found generally on ash or sycamore trees, but has recently been found using a range of other trees and shrubs and has been spreading into urban habitats. It feeds wholly on mildew, so not an sort of problem and a delightful insect to be doing well.
