streets off of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh
Actually managed to find enough time for a bit of a lengthy city-centre walk today ; tried to stick to as many of the lesser-known streets, around both sides of the bottom half of the Royal Mile ...
... the highlight of the route had to be the slight detour into the (still relatively) new Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI); which has some fascinating court-yard gardens that I think may well be in the first-year of full-flowering?
The photo here shows a wonderful bank, completely awash with Persicaria, which we all felt was particularly effective :-)
The whole site is freely open to the public; yet I'm fairly sure that most folk don't realise what wonderful, small gardens are within the complex?
And the weather's been great, all day again, here in Edinburgh :-)
