Spinalonga

Day 5 on Crete : today we went on a boat trip to the island of Spinalonga, which until 1957 was used as a leper colony. It was fascinating and moving to see the setting and hear the story of the place on which Victoria Hislop's book "The Island" is based.

After our visit to Spinalonga, we cruised to a lovely little bay further along the coast where we had a swim and then a BBQ lunch. Great day!
