Looking for love...
For my first blip, I went for a wander around our garden. This is a bit of transition time of year, even in the warmth of Texas, so many plants weren't looking too exciting but there were a few bugs around, including this lovebug (Plecia nearctica) on our oleander. Lovebugs are normally seen as a male and female attached to each other (hence the name) floating 'aimlessly' around in mid-air, getting in the way of humans and, sadly for the bugs, their vehicles. Lovebug season is roughly a couple of weeks in spring and fall and, since they're often in swarms, they can create quite a mess on the front of your car if you go for a long drive. This wee bug is probably still in search of a mate.
