Pentland Skyline
This morning I walked up Turnhouse Hill with Miss K, a friend, his two dogs and his friend and her dog. This took a while and, on the way, I chatted with a BBC cameraman who was to be filming today's Pentland Skyline hill race for "The Adventure Show". The race is 26km with 1900m climb and I've done it a few times. It was such a good day that I regretted not entering.
The picture shows the leader reaching the summit of Turnhouse which is about a third of the way round, having come over the three hills on the horizon. Although he was going well, maybe he went off too fast because he ended up 14th. The winner took 2h30 and the last runner took more than 5h30, but he is over 80!
