The Leader of the Pack?

What a glorious day it's been. The weather has been so spring-like that I could almost imagine I'd woken up in the other hemisphere!

Wanting to make the most of the sunshine, Spokes and I cycled down to the river and along to New Brighton stopping for a slap-up, al fresco, 'all day vegetarian breakfast' at the cafe in Vale Park.

Having basked in the sun for as long as we could get away with we then cycled further along the Mersey Estuary before hopping off for a stroll. All of which revived our appetites to the extent that we simply had to stop for a cuppa and a cake at a new but decidedly retro tea room which plays Buddy Holly, Connie Francis, the Shangri-Las and the Everly Brothers whilst serving tea in 'pre-loved' china cups. Nice!

We weren't the only ones out on bikes today but our riding style was rather more sedate than this...
