Seas of Red
Leslie and I had the day off today for Columbus Day and visited the Tower of London as tourists for the first time since moving to London. As part of the "Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red" installation over 888,246 ceramic poppies will be planted by volunteers in the Tower moat. Each poppy represents a British fatality during World War I. The last one will be put in place on November 11th, Remembrance Day. The display is massive and helps put in perspective the losses in the war for the British. I took several pictures with my Canon but only this iPhone panoramic seemed to capture the scale.
