Here's how I think they selected the trains for Scotland...

Air Conditioning? Nah, it's Scotland it will never be warm enough - REMOVED FROM LIST.

Pull-down blinds to stop the sun shining in and cooking you? Nah, it's Scotland it will never be sunny enough - REMOVED FROM LIST.

Decent sized seats? Nah, they're all skinny gits in Scotland, and anyway why should we pay for comfort - let them suffer - REMOVED FROM LIST.

Power points for laptops and phones? Get stuffed, next thing they'll be thinking we are actually providing a SERVICE to the CUSTOMER! REMOVED FROM LIST.
