Paulownia fortunei
Stands 10 metres tall in the high school grounds and drops its blossom on the pavement. Trying to capture the height and the flowers is a challenge. It has a slight scent as well. Not good for asthmatics along with many other flowering plants at the moment.
From wikipedia The genus, originally Pavlovnia but now usually spelled Paulownia, was named in honour of Anna Paulowna queen consort of The Netherlands (1795–1865), daughter of Tsar Paul I of Russia. It is also called "princess tree" for the same reason.
Busy day today at historical research room and committee meeting afterwards so out early.
