A busy day started with 6yo and I heading down the hill to Salt Pots to paint a gecko. We pottered around Roberts Park on the way home, and admired this grey heron in the weir.
In the afternoon I revisited St. John's graveyard ivy which had brought in even more Red Admirals (13) than yesterday, while the community garden again had two Red Admirals and a Small Tortoiseshell.
Finally, a delayed birthday treat had us heading back down to Saltaire for another fine Live Room gig. In supprt, Andy Ruddy returned to his Bradford roots to showcase his new ep, and kindly handed out a copy to the entire audience; a young songwriter who will surely grow onto bigger things. Then the main attraction, Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer who joined us from the wildest reaches of maritime Washington State and delighted us with their songwriting and musicality. Bellingham blippers note, they will be back home with you at the Green Frog on November 7th - don't miss them.
