The falling leaves.......

According to the weather people, this past weekend the trees in our area reached their peak color! I believe it, as the trees just seemed to shine in yesterday's sun! Such a difference between where we are & further north-- the further north we drove yesterday, the more bare trees we saw, so the "northern-most" trees have already dropped their leaves for the year!
So it was with great saddness that I woke up to rain this morning, because while the rain's been falling it's made so many of the beautifully colored leaves fall along with it! I think the leaves are now at about 50/50--- 50% on the trees & 50% on the ground! What a difference a day makes! It's supposed to rain for the next few days, so that will more than likely finish off the rest of the leaves! :((
