Columbus Day

Today was Columbus Day in the US, a National Holiday. It was a warm and sunny Indian Summer day and numerous people were taking advantage of the day off and the good weather by spending some time on this small beach. I couldn't believe how many people were actually swimming back and forth along the length of the bay. The water was actually quite choppy!

This is the beach at Aquatic Park near Fisherman's Wharf. The historic ships are part of the Maritime National Historic Park at Hyde Street Pier.
