3D Printer
So, the undergraduates now have this funky new 'toy' (a 3D printer) to play around with! Lucky, aren't they? It's primarily being used to make prototype parts for turbine blades, which the students can then test the efficiency of.
I had an MRI scan of my brain done a few years back for a friend's PhD project - I will see if I can get a 3D printed version of my own brain!
In other news, it's Ada Lovelace day! Why not take a few minutes to read about this fascinating lady. As a woman working in Physics, this is an initiative that is close to my heart. Any female scientists reading this - thanks for setting an example to the next generation of female scientists!
