Banjo

We were in Kirkcaldy last night to see our old friend Debby McClatchy who was doing an evening of Appalachian music along with the Albemarle Ramblers from Virginia.

In spite of the atrocious weather (not snow, just lashing freezing rain) a sizeable crowd assembled in the Polish Ex-Servicemens Club and a splendid evening of fine music and good humour ensued.

I took several shots of the band playing together but none that completely worked so I chose this one of the headstock of D's beautiful old banjo - it was resting on the table in front of me (fully primed!) before being deployed.
