Autumn Beauty

Here is the first verse from my favourite WB Yeats poem

"The trees are in their autumn beauty,
The woodland paths are dry,
Under the October twilight the water
Mirrors a still sky;
Upon the brimming water among the stones
Are nine-and-fifty swans."

The October twilight is, of course, old age. Dry woodland paths are about mature calm and the still sky is contentment. I love the lyrical nature of the poem, but to describe my own old age I prefer Dylan Thomas "Do not go Gentle Into That Good Night" Now all I need are raging evening skies to photograph and blip!
