All ears

This is the Torcaza, or Eared Dove (Zenaida auricular) a pretty little dove found in most of South America and recently in parts of the West Indies. It is similar to the North American Mourning Dove. This was one of many I saw on a recent birding trip; it's very far from an endangered species, despite being hunted on a grand scale in some areas.
