Photographique....

I feel a bit like the Solar System at the moment when a whole bunch of planets come into alignment and pull on each other across the vastness of space. Two of the events I like to attend at the Post Box Cafe in Chorlton fell in the same week. My writing group, JUST WRITE, was on Monday and Cake Club is tonight, Wednesday.

They have started a new event; an event where you can go and learn how to take better photographs and I can do with the help. And it's on the night between the other two. I have a 'point and press and hope for the best' approach to my photography and this site is littered with my attempts. Last night we were having a get to know your camera session. Mine has all kinds of features and options that I know nothing about. Last night I learned how to use my White Balance option that improves pictures taken in artificial light no end. I also learned about Macro Mode which, as I understand it, is supposed to enable you to take really close, in focus pictures. I don't think I've got the hang of that and the pictures I took with my old 'point and press and hope for the best' method with added zoom turned out clearer. Note to self....must try harder.

I was pleased, though, with my panorama shot of the interior of the Post Box Cafe. It makes damn fine coffee and always has a great selection of cakes, all homemade, on offer. If you're in Chorlton, give it a try. Tell them Tom sent you....
