Rope group glacier descent

Day 10 Classic Haute route: Climb to the Col de L'Eveque (3386m) and descend onto the Haute Glacier d'Arolla. Then cross the Col de Bertol (3268m) to reach the Cabane de Bertol (3331m).

Another great day - the photo shows the descent from Col de L'Eveque where we crossed into Italy for a while 1km. Today Kathy, Tyson adn myself got to be on our own rope team :-)

The glacier d'Arolla had retreated alarmingly. Then it was a long climb up to the highest stay of the route at the Bertol hut - which is perched on a crag and can only be reached by 50m of vertical ladders!
