Blipmeet for Blipfoto's 10th Birthday

A full day in Edinburgh. It began with a Blipmeet. Just lovely to catch up with LadyFindhorn over quality tea and shortbread. Red balloon brought specially to mark ten years of this special site. It felt appropriate to celebrate with my most commented on No 1 Blipfriend. Between us we have almost ten years of entries.

We went to meet Ch in Middle Meadow walk, and LadyF admired her beautiful ring. I then had a sneaky peek into Ch's Postgrad world in George Square.

Lunch in an East African place near the mosque, then a brief visit to the National Museum of Scotland, to introduce Ch to the Lewis Chessmen.

Onwards to New College to meet S and John Knox in the courtyard, and a quick tour around her new place of study. What an impressive building, with beautiful blue sky views across the city.

I then hobbled down the Playfair Steps, and across to Queen Street to the National Portrait Gallery. Excellent John Byrne exhibition, which ends on 19th. Also a moving WW1 display. I admired Harry Benson's recent photograph of The Queen, and informative panels showing Sandy Stoddart's replacement statue of "History" above the entrance to the museum.

My day ended with a delicious meal cooked by S back at the flat. Lovely to see #1 too. I feel very blessed.
