CHOICES

Nmr-1 just left to play a couple of holes of golf.
I’m deleting images on my laptop,
When I catch movement in the yard.

I take a few steps toward the slider,
A bobcat.
He glances my way, then pauses to peek over the fence.

Do I grab my camera to capture the moment?
Do I stay still, to watch, to live in-the-moment?

Ah, I go for the camera.
In time to see Mr Bobcat,
Jump our short fence into the desert.
He’s barely visible through the thick brush.
Then, incredibly, he pads softly into the open,
Stops. Poses. Moves on.
