Hope

This is a very old, cool examining table at the Mayo Clinic. I met with a GI motility specialist. He concurred with my GI doc that my underlying autoimmune disease is the cause of my disrupted motility. And there is no safe medication to address it.

I have been quite sick this week. Yesterday, I was at the hospital getting 3 liters of IV fluids. I have waited months for this appointment. I was determined to go, with bucket in hand just in case the anti nausea meds didn't work.

So hearing from this renowned GI motility specialist that there is not much anyone can do for me except treat the symptoms, was NOT what I wanted to hear today.

In the next 3 weeks, I return for more tests. I hold out some hope that we find something more treatable.
