'Acoustic Sessions'

Tonight after work I was invited into a recording session with my mate Ben Kelly who's in the middle of recording a new acoustic album.

The Studio, Basin Records is in a fantastic location just up from the foothills of the Dandenongs and the setup that Matt (the studio engineer) has under his house in quite amazing. They are 2 days into a 3 day recording session with Ben playing and singing live in the studio to try to capture the feel and spirit of his live shows. They would run through each song a few times and then decide which was the best take, mark it and then it would be ready for the next stage of mixing and sweetening.

I shot 244 shots tonight, but have only had the energy to process 3 images tonight. This is one of them taken from inside the control room looking back at Ben through the glass that separates the studio space.
