silent ways

raised to be performers
clowns and entertainers
always talking, laughing, singing
actors on a stage
wanting to be seen and heard
wanting to make impressions
to be loved, to be special,
to compete and to win

always running away from silence
as if it was a disease
as if being noisy was the same as being joyful

when the show is over
light turned off and the stage empty
when no one is looking
the clowns are crying in their beds
collapsing into silence
overwhelmed by the simple beauty
and the pains of life off stage

but listening into the darkness
out of nothing
a new presence arises
easeful communions in space
hearts beating in the same rythm
the joy of being
without doing anything
