Venn Street at dusk

Venn Street in Clapham is named after the Rev John Venn (1759-1813). The Rev Venn was leader of the Clapham Sect, a Church of England movement involved in promoting missionary work and campaigning for the abolition of slavery.

The Venn Diagram was invented by his grandson, another John Venn (1834-1923).
