Fire Safety

There is only one smoke alarm in our apartment and that is in the kitchen. This doesn't conform to UK building regulations as you can't have them in kitchens or adjacent to extraction/air con units (which there are three of in our kitchen).

The fire alarm went off a couple of days ago at 1am and nobody heard it. But hey, this is Abu Dhabi.
We're also on the fourth floor and have only one single route to a fire exit. (Which incidentally was blocked by a desk at the bottom yesterday!)


As an added bonus, the smoke alarm in the outside circulation space has its cover on still...

Really makes you feel safe as you turn the light off at night!
