River Wensum at Fye Bridge
This is a few steps from my flat . The walk along the river from here will probably replace Cemetery Rd, so you will see a lot more of it. Yesterday I saw a kingfisher flash across.
Until the 19C travel by water to Amsterdam was quicker and easier than to London. The rivers were central to trade with Europe. Fye Bridge was a 13c structure replaced in 1829.
There was a ducking stool here, which I'm very reluctant to reflect on, but often do as I walk across.
Grounded today : my car broke down!!.
