Opening new doors

A very busy day: I attended four lectures on subjects ranging from a study of the medieval German language from the perspective of historical linguistics, with a view to charting the development of the language through to the German which is spoken today; an introduction to the French poetry of the 19th century; a discussion of the works of Flaubert; and an exploration of the German Romantic movement. I then worked on reading for and planning this week's German essay.

In one (pouring wet) day I have learnt so much!
