Rebuilding the beach

This is Cooden Beach near Bexhill on Sea. There were five of these enormous dumpers being loaded up with pebbles by the Cooden Beach Hotel and then taking the loads less than half a mile away to where the road drops below high tide level for a few metres on its way to Normans Bay. The sea defences are occasionally breached there. It seemed like rather a fruitless operation but I guess it is effective in the short term.
Although I'd have thought that dumping the loads on the road with some concrete to raise it would be a longer-lasting solution.
