Karen is an active, leading spokesperson and teacher for effective force-free training across the globe. Her work with dolphins in the 1960s revolutionized animal training by pioneering and popularizing force-free training methods based on operant conditioning and the conditioned reinforcer. Or said in another way...

This is the inventor of clicker training!

We have had a super first day of the Clicker Expo. I worked my dogs in 2 different workshops. First I worked Hero in Michele Pouliot's workshop about Hidden Cues & Prompts for Stunning Freestyle Routines and later I worked Biscuit in Ken Ramirez's Modifier Cues & How to Teach Them in Action. It was very very technical, but also very very interesting and we had a great time.

In the afternoon, we attended Karen Pryor's lecture about Drawbacks of Negative Reinforcement & Extinction. This is dog training for nerds and I am loving it :-)

Back in the hotel and looking forward to another great day tomorrow.
