Weekend Wildlife Warriors......

On the way down south today stopped for a cup of coffee at Capel and decided to turn right to have a look at the Capel River which runs out to the sea.

Spotted, right in the middle of the road, a large long neck turtle (aka Oblong Turtle). We stopped to check it out. A German tourist family also stopped, took a photo with their IPhone, let their children look at her and then drove off. Next along comes a young farmer in his orange, souped-up Holden Commodore who drove straight past, which left us to gather up this large turtle and take her back to the river bank across the paddock.

We think she may have been looking for somewhere to lay her eggs.
