Narnia Country

Somewhat ironically, I have just been speaking at an Ecotourism conference, so today I drove back home, another 2.5 hours in the car. And a little more of our precious petroleum consumed. Bugger! As we say in NZ.

But, good for my blipping as again conditions were beautiful. Today I had to choose between my favourite bird, the Kea, the world's only mountain parrot. Or the hills. Wildlife yesterday, hills today.

You might recognise these vistas from Narnia (much of which was filmed in the shadow of these hills) and similar ones in Lord of The Rings ...

Sadly, I am now in town again for a few days. I'll have to get more creative now ;-)
