What is this?

This is a bird one should never shoot, it is in fact a white pheasant! Every year there is usually one in a number of pheasants and a couple of years ago someone shot one during the village shoot. Comments were flying! I am not sure why one should avoid them. The bird was walking along the hedge in the garden, probably one of last years. The weather has pushed us swiftly into winter with rain and more rain. We still have 25 acres of maize to harvest and we may have to ditch the whole lot. It has happened once before.
