Whiteness Point

A glorious sunny day looking across the Firth to Rosemarkie and the Black Isle. This area consists of acres of waste land, demolished heaps of concrete structures, a beautiful, extensive beach, dunes, a deep water inlet and harbour, wildflowers and birds. It took half an hour to walk along the deserted frontage to the dunes boundary. It is vast! It used to be the Oil Rig construction Yard, but was abandoned years ago and is now titled Port of Ardersier. Couldn't help wondering why the new town scheduled for the Ardersier area and facing much opposition, is not being built here.
Saw no-one, but was delighted to find Seaside Centaury still in flower. Photoed it here in June!
