It took us a while to spot the Little Grebes - one adult and one young - at Blackford Pond, but I'm glad we stayed until we did. This young had quite a long bath, followed by some wing flapping. It looked as if its sibling had already left, along with one of the adults. I can't imagine how the young know where to go and what a dangerous, difficult journey it must be. There were only five cygnets today, so it may well be that one of them also has moved on to somewhere else. I wonder where that is and how it was for the cygnet.
