Twist and Shout!

I needed some a lot quiet time this morning to recover from yesterday so am just getting to Friday’s blip on Saturday.:-)

Yesterday began early with a short trip to our clinic for a test (routine) and a flu shot. Then, since Fiona’s school was closed today, she came to us! Spent a lot of time making 3 books: “Finding Faces”, “ Wedding girl, Flower Girl” and “Little Lone Girl” which involved cutting ,pasting and drawing. Later they were combined into one book. Break for lunch and more play, a trip to REI to play on tree climber with many other little screaming kids, then we thought a nap would be good. After 6 books (including the brand new from REI “Curious George goes camping” ) we all had maybe 4 minutes of quiet before she decided she missed her parents too much, many hugs and tears over their picture. So much for anyone’s rest. The box of homemade dolls immediately replaced the tears however and all were undressed and dressed in their special outfits with all spread all over the floor. And the game of chutes and ladders we played. We were planning on getting the grandsons after school today but Oskar sprained his ankle and was on crutches so his Mom stayed home and got Nik to Soccer before bringing them over here at 7:30 so she and our son could go out to a dinner on their anniversary.(they deserved that!) We ate earlier with Fiona, and had a hilarious conversation about hibernating versus hyperventilating. She talked to me (except when on the climber and 4 minutes of rest) non stop for 9 hours til her Mom came to get her- just as the boys were arriving. Whew! Gave the boys dinner and plunked myself down with my knitting to watch their movie with them…Ferris Bueller ..which they love and have seen many times.. The balloon blip is when the movie music is turned up to "Twist and Shout" accompanied by them.... I couldn’t manage to move a muscle by then……even tho Nik tried to think of some ideas for more balloon photos.
