Corbrigg Gate - a tough walk
Today was the 8th day of the Haltwhistle Walking Festival.
After a day of rest, I was out doing the long walk in the series of "Old Routes in the North Pennines". We started in Nenthead and wandered around the boggy moors in high winds and stinging rain until we came to Alston. I like walking on moorland and we did have some wonderful open views. We also were quite wet this morning.
Janet arrived from Middlesbro' and did the Tyne Rivers' Trust walk near Greenlee Lough. I booked a table and we three had a good meal at the Red Lion in Newbrough tonight. It was quiet so we could chat and the food was very good.
Arth does not want to walk tomorrow and I'm waiting to decided after a night's sleep. (He may be right.)
