Well met by moonlight...

Meet Joe. Writer, advice worker, activist and all round good egg.

Joe co-ordinates the country's only Citizens Advice Bureau project for LGBT people (OUTreach Liverpool) and has been a staunch supporter of recent work that I've been involved in looking at mental health and the LGBT community. We met at The Bluecoat this afternoon for a catch-up and the weather was good enough to allow us to sit outside in the garden for our chat - which was an added bonus.

I hadn't realised until now that Joe co-ordinates 9 projects as part of his work for North Liverpool CAB - the LGBT work being just one of them. How he finds time to do anything else is beyond me but he's currently on a roll with his writing too and seems to spend half his life on the move - London one week, Birmingham the next and Berlin as often as he can get there!

After our meeting I dragged him inside to have his photo taken using part of the current James McNeill Whistler exhibition as a moody, moonlit backdrop. Thanks for being so accommodating, Joe!
